The world-renowned opera singer Mimi Coertse together with the celebrated opera director and costume designer Neels Hansen co-founded The Black Tie Ensemble, to enable young South African singers to display their talents. This played a major role in honing and nurturing their talents.
It is for this reason that our own living legend Mimi Coertse deserves the honour of being celebrated as she turns 91 this year.
A befitting concert will be held in celebration of this star and the Loveline Arts Foundation is honoured to host this prestigious event.
The alumni of the Black Tie Ensemble, including Loveline Madumo, Veramarie Meyer, Linda Zitha, Thabang Senekal, Charlotte Silulu and many more will enthral the audience.
The program will cater to the whole family and includes “Heimwee”, “O Boereplaas”, the famous Rigoletto-Quartet, “Vilja”, “O Mio Babbino Caro” and many more opera favourites.
