Energy, rhythmic drive and virtuosic flair remain the musical aim of the Charl du Plessis Trio. Their new stage creation combines aspects of exploration, expression and abundant musical fun. As one of the most recognisable works of music ever composed, the Boléro by Maurice Ravel contains all the ingredients this trio loves: humour, melodic sophistication and a suitably big crescendo. The talent of Werner Spies (bass) and Peter Auret (drums) ensures the desired artistic outcome and has become the signature sound of this prestigious ensemble. This programme will also include Finger Buster by pianist Willie “The Lion” Smith and French chanson No Regrets made famous by Edith Piaf.
