The winner of the 2023 Atterbury National Piano Competition, Heinrich Sutton will perform his first solo recital at the Atterbury Theatre on Friday 19 April entitled Spectrum. As the most dynamic, versatile and exciting young pianist in South Africa, this talented musician presents a new concept piano recital. He has chosen a thrilling selection of classical piano works all the way to rock, featuring the well-known Fantasie Impromptu by Frederic Chopin and the dazzling “Little Red Riding Hood Etude” by Rachmaninov. He has been awarded major prizes in National competitions and is currently completing his matric studies. Heinrich was a piano student of the late Claudine van Breda and currently studies with Joseph Stanford and Megan-Geoffrey Prins. Heinrich Sutton will feature violinst Reuben van Niewenhuizen as a guest artist.
